About Simply Being

Why we started

Simply Being began with a simple observation: the haircare people love most is built on a few ingredients they already trust, and the labels they trust least are the ones that hide behind a single word like "parfum". We wanted a range that names everything.

The result is one product to start: the Strengthening Hair & Scalp Oil, built around rosemary, cooling mint and biotin. Scent comes from named essential oils, not an undisclosed fragrance blend. Every ingredient on the pack is explained on this website in language you don't need a chemistry degree to follow.

Behind the label

Simply Being is based in Melbourne, Australia. The country of manufacture, batch number and full ingredients list are printed on every pack.

Two ingredients in the range are Australian natives: eucalyptus (Eucalyptus globulus, Tasmanian blue gum) and tea tree (Melaleuca alternifolia), both used as essential oils in the Hair & Scalp Oil.

Our standards

• Compliance. Every ingredient is permitted under the Australian Industrial Chemicals Introduction Scheme (AICIS). Every label follows the Consumer Goods (Cosmetics) Information Standard 2020. Our claims are cosmetic, not therapeutic, and reviewed against the Therapeutic Goods Administration's cosmetic-therapeutic boundary before publication.
• Safety. Each formula undergoes preservative efficacy (challenge) testing, stability testing at elevated temperature, and repeat-insult patch testing on human volunteers before release. Every batch is retained and traceable by the number printed on its base.
• Animal testing. Australia banned the use of new animal test data for cosmetic ingredients in 2020, and we do not test finished products on animals.
• Named scent. Our products are scented with named essential oils (rosemary, mint, eucalyptus, lavandin, tea tree) rather than an undisclosed "parfum". Essential oils contain natural fragrance allergens, so we recommend a patch test.
• Honest marketing. We don't buy reviews and we only publish reviews from verified purchasers. We don't use "clinically proven" unless we can show you the study, and we don't claim that any product changes how hair grows.

Packaging & sustainability

Every pack carries the recycling symbol and can go in kerbside recycling once empty and rinsed; remove pumps, droppers and sprayers first, as they are not currently recyclable. Shipping cartons are card with paper tape.
